At present, there are more than 20 organic silicon monomer companies in China, including companies under construction. The annual production capacity has also soared from about 100,000 tons to nearly 600,000 tons, and Zhejiang Province has only about 250,000 tons. It is expected that by 2010, China's production capacity will reach 1.5 million tons to 1.7 million tons, making it the world's largest producer of organic silicon monomers.

However, compared with the advanced level in foreign countries, there is still a big gap between China's current organic silicon monomer production technology and the similar process design used in production. Moreover, most of the newly-entered enterprises in this field are transferred from other industries, lack their own technologies and talents, and are almost entirely dependent on the introduction from outside. In fact, the organic silicon monomer production technology is highly demanding, and it has high requirements for the operational quality, work experience, etc. of production operators and technicians and managers. At the same time, companies need to constantly improve and perfect their production processes in the actual production process.

It is definitely not a wise move for a newly-entered company to hope that digging talent from other companies will allow the investment to take effect as soon as possible. In fact, some newly-started companies have suffered bitter results last year. For instance, an organic silicon monomer production unit invested and constructed by a real estate company in Zhejiang Province has repeatedly experienced safety and environmental problems during driving. It once failed to drive normally. Some of the other devices are also lack of operating rate, and the actual production capacity is far from the design capability of the device.

China's fluorosilicone organic materials association secretary-general Mei Sheng said that investors' quick-motivated behavior and impetuous mentality not only do no good to the company's own development, but also seriously restricts the healthy development of this industry.
